Id Guinness: Home

'Soul Envy,' the follow-up to the critically acclaimed 'Cure for the Common Crush' is here!

"... SOUNDS SUPERB ..." - New Horizons, U.K.

"... A BEAUTIFUL THRILL ..." -, Paris

Over the years, Vancouver singer-songwriter Id Guinness has performed and recorded with many Canadian artists and bands. He has been an active session keyboardist and songwriter whose work appeared on several independent releases.

As an artist, Id returned to the music scene in 2007 to release the album "Cure for the Common Crush" which was hailed by critics across North America and Europe as one of the strongest releases of the year. A video for the song “Wailing Wall,” directed by Kailey Carruthers, was featured at the 2010 Chicago International Music and Movie Festival.

He has been a touring member of the Juno-nominated folk group ‘The Wyrd Sisters,’ and spent the summers of 2007 and 2008 criss-crossing Western Canada with ‘Canada’s First Ladies of Folk.’

In December 2008, Id released “Crush’d: Remixes, Re-recordings and Rarities Vol I.” An album of remixed and re-imagined songs from "Cure for the Common Crush" as well as many rare and previously unreleased songs from his vast back-catalogue, “Crush’d” has just gone back into the shop for an overhaul. It will be remixed, remastered and re-released at some point in the near future with additional tracks.

Id's second full length album "Soul Envy" is available now.

Please check out the brilliant photography of Sureeyapon Sri-ampai.  He  was gracious enough to allow his images to be used for the new album.  You can purchase a print of the 'Soul Envy' cover (called 'The Ceremony') among other fantastic works at or click on the Purchase link on the left.
